Originally from rural Iowa, Kate Sutton completed her BFA in Ceramics and Social Practice from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2026. Prior to moving to Kansas City, she was the first artist-in-residence at Creston Arts in Creston, Iowa in 2023. Her sense of community care has been deeply influential throughout her artistic development as she considers themes of grief, nostalgia, and transformation in her practice.
